Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshops
The Angling Trust currently endorses and delivers under licence the Safeguarding and Protecting Children, We would recommend that anybody supporting children in angling, attend a workshop.
Those attending the training will be able to:
- identify and recognise good practice and the implications for coaching
- explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise their potential impact on your response
- recognise and respond to possible signs of child abuse
- take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise.
To find a workshop near you why not have a look at the UKCoaching website or search your local County Sports Partnership website.
If you have had a look at the above and still can’t find anything then e mail firstname.lastname@example.org as we now deliver combined Safeguarding and First Aid in reponse to Level 2 course at a reduced cost.
It is recommended that those working with children in angling refresh their training every 3 years and it is now a mandatory requirement for all coaches Licensed by the AT to do so. For those who have already attended a face to face workshop, you can now update your training with UKcoaching by undertaking the new UKcoaching: Safeguarding and Protecting Children elearning workshop.
